SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg men's tennis team jumped back into North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) West Division competition with an 8-1 loss to regionally ranked DePauw.

Wittenberg now stands13-5 overall and 1-1 in the NCAC West. DePauw, which annually plays one of the most challenging schedules in the nation, improved to 6-12 overall and 1-0 in the division.

DePauw gained plenty of momentum from the doubles competition, where the visiting Tigers completed a sweep. In the singles competition, Wittenberg's lone win was provided by sophomore Sasha Topolyanskiy (Moscow, Russia) at the No. 3 position.

Also of note, junior Sam Wilke (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) extended his No. 5 singles match to three sets before losing in a tiebreaker.
