Tigers' Spring Schedule Continues At Wabash

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — The Wittenberg men's tennis team dropped two decisions in a tri-match at Wabash College, falling to the Little Giants 7-2 and to Calvin 6-0. The Tigers are now 9-6 on the season and 0-2 in North Coast Athletic Conference action.

Tiger winners against Wabash included senior Bobby Fisher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) and freshman Tyler Strong (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual). Fisher won the first set against Peter Gunderman 7-6, dropped the second 2-6, and won 7-6 in the third set in No. 1 singles.

Strong took down Zach Lowry 6-1, 1-6, 7-5 in No. 2 singles, and freshman Sam Wilke (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) just missed a win at No. 3 on scores of 6-2, 5-7, 6-7.

The Tigers and Calvin shortened their match once the result was determined as Calvin swept the doubles portion and won three singles matches, leaving fourth, fifth and sixth singles unfinished.

The Tigers return to Springfield for a 1 p.m. match with Capital at the Albright Tennis Complex on Sunday, April 10.
