SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg Tigers capped a busy weekend with a 6-3 win over visiting Capital in a match rescheduled from March 28 due to inclement weather.
The win was Wittenberg's second in three home matches on the weekend and improved the Tigers to 11-8 on the 2009-10 season.
The key to the victory was a doubles sweep, which allowed the two teams to split the singles matches and thus secure the win for Wittenberg. Senior Craig Lods (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) was a double-winner at No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles, as were senior Rob Lehner (Westerville, Ohio/DeSales) and freshman Stuart Zorn (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming).
Lehner picked up the win at No. 5 singles and Zorn was a winner at No. 6. The pair teamed up for an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles.
