Tigers Cap Spring Break With Win At Belmont Abbey

CHARLOTTE, NC — The Wittenberg Tigers ended their 2010 Spring Break on a four-match winning streak after capping the busy excursion through the Carolinas with a 9-0 win at Belmont Abbey.

The win moved the Tigers to 7-3 overall on the 2009-10 season and ended their Spring Break with a 4-2 record. Wittenberg now has a week off before returning to action against Walsh on March 20.

The Tigers dominated action, recording four wins by shutout - two singles and two doubles. Four players were double-winners in the match, starting with freshman Stuart Zorn (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming), who was pushed to three sets before winning at No. 5 singles after teaming with junior Bobby Fisher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) for an 8-0 win at No. 3.

Fisher also won convincingly at No. 1 singles. The other two double-winners were sophomore Stephane Antwi (Rosedale, NY/McClancy Memorial) at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles and senior Craig Lods (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles.
