Tigers Unable To Overcome Tough Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio — The Wittenberg men's tennis team traveled to Denison for a North Coast Athletic Conference West Division match, but were unable to overcome a fierce Big Red team and fell to 8-6 overall and 1-1 in the NCAC West by a 9-0 score.

Denison, ranked ninth in the Great Lakes region according to the International Tennis Association, kept Wittenberg at bay. Sophomore Stephane Antwi (Rosedale, NY/McClancy Memorial) found the most success when he forced a tiebreaker in the first set at No. 2 singles before falling 7-6, and losing 6-3 in the second set.

The team of junior Bobby Fisher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) and senior Craig Lods (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) dropped an 8-6 decision at second doubles.

The Tigers take their home court on Saturday, April 3, in an 11 a.m. match with Huntington.
