Tigers Turn Down Home Stretch With Another Success

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tiger men's tennis team proved today that it can bounce back from a loss quickly, and this time it was the Capital Crusaders who fell victim to the Tigers winning 2008-09 campaign. Wittenberg won the match by a convincing 6-3 margin, moving to 11-5 on the regular season.

Every single Tiger earned at least one victory for the Red & White in either the singles or doubles competition. The pair of freshmen Stephane Antwi (Rosedale, NY/Monsignor McClancy Memorial) and Derek de Rie (Breukeler, The Netherlands/RSG Broklede) combined for an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles before splitting up to earn one more win each in singles.

Junior Craig Lods (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) dominated his opponent, 6-0, 6-2, for the win in the sixth flight singles.

The Tigers hit the road Wednesday, April 7 to take on regional opponent Transylvania. With a win Wednesday, the Tigers would match the most wins in a season since 2005.
