HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Wittenberg's men's tennis team continues to roll through 2009, staying perfect on their South Carolina trip with the most recent exploit coming over Colby-Sawyer by an 8-1 edge. Another dominant doubles output started the Red & White on its way to an 8-1 record. Without even getting into the bulk of conference play, Wittenberg has already eclipsed last year's win total by three and exceeded the seven wins earned by the Tigers the last two yearscombined.

Sophomore Bobby Fisher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) won the No. 2 singles flight, 6-4, 6-3, while pairing with senior Brad Seymour (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) in an 8-4 doubles win. He was one of several double winners in the total team effort.

First-year Derek de Rie (Breukeler, The Netherlands/RSG Broklede) displayed the Tiger youthful depth with a win in a tiebreaker at the fifth tier as Wittenberg won two of three matches in which the first two sets were split.

One more match sits on the horizon during the Tigers' visit to Hilton Head, coming up on Friday, March 13 at 12:30 p.m.
