Wittenberg Dominates NCAC Foe Earlham

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tiger men's tennis team made a strong statement with a 9-0 defeat of visiting North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opponent Earlham. The win moved the Tigers to 3-1 in conference play, just one win behind nationally ranked Denison, which currently leads the West Division of the NCAC.

Senior Brad Seymour (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) won a close battle at No. 1 singles as he was extended to a tiebreaker in the second set, improving to 12-7 on the season. The Tigers total domination of the day was also highlighted by nearly flawless play coming from the No. 3 doubles pair of juniorAndy Lamb (Bluffton, Ohio/Bluffton) and sophomore Bobby Fisher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln). The duo did not allow their opponent a game in an 8-0 win, while Lamb was nearly as efficient in singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.

The Tigers will not have much time to celebrate their victory. Tomorrow they will face Wooster at 3 p.m. in an important conference match. Wooster is currently 2-0 in the NCAC and in first place in the Eastern Division.
