Wittenberg Competes Well at ITAs

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg men's tennis team traveled to Kalamazoo, Mich. to compete in the Men's Midwest Regional International Tennis Association tournament this past weekend. Several players had good weekends and were able to advance several rounds.

Sophomore Rob Lehner (Gahanna, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) led the charge, defeating an opponent 6-2, 7-6 in the round of 64 in the men's singles B competition before exiting with a loss in the round of 32. He also teamed up with freshman Robert Lehner (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) to advance to the quarterfinals of the men's doubles B competition.

Junior Brad Seymour (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) made it to the third round of the men's open singles consolation bracket before bowing out. Senior Ryan Snyder (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood-Madison) copied the feat, exiting the tournament in the same round.

Fisher also competed in the men's singles B bracket, winning two matches on his way to the round of 16. Freshman Dave Jenks (Medina, Ohio/Archbishop Hoban)played in the same competition, losing early to move to the consolation rounds, where he advanced to the third round before losing.
