Wittenberg Stumbles In NCAC Match At Oberlin

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers wrapped a long weekend road trip with a loss at Oberlin, 8-1. The loss came less than 24 hours after a 9-0 loss at Allegheny.

The Tigers' lone win came at No. 6 singles as freshman Andy Lamb (Bluffton, Ohio/Bluffton) recorded a 6-0, 6-2 win. Wittenberg pushed two other singles courts to the brink of wins, but junior Brad Seymour (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) lost a second-set tiebreaker at No. 1 singles and freshman Robert Fisher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) lost a 10-point tiebreaker to decide the third set after splitting the first two at the No. 3 spot.

The Tigers are now 1-3 overall and 1-2 in the NCAC, heading into a lengthy break. Wittenberg will resume the second half of the 2007-08 season with a match against John Carroll on March 15.
