Tigers Turn Ohio Wesleyan Back In First Home Meet

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Wittenberg's men's and women's swimming and diving teams both improved to 2-0 in their dual meet records Friday with wins over visiting Ohio Wesleyan. The men took home a 126.5-107.5 victory, while the women claimed a 137-88 win.

The men had an impressive meet, led by three wins from sophomore James Dumstorf (Louisville, Ky/St. Xavier), who led the 400 medley relay team to a win, and added individual victories in the 400 individual medley and the 100 butterfly.

Dumstorf was joined in the 400 medley by freshman Steve Stuthers (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic), sophomore A.J. Burt (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming) and sophomore Jared Crum (Galveston, Ind./Lewis Cass).

Stuthers went on to win the 100 backstroke on a time of 56.26, while Easley was also a double winner with first place in the 100 freestyle at 49.16. In the diving well, sophomore Eric Roberts (Willits, Calif./Willits) and freshman Kevin Duhl (Westerville, Ohio/North) combined to sweep both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, respectively.

On the women's side, freshman Dani Lacy (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Collegiate School) took home two individual victories, starting with the 200 freestyle on a time of 1:59.28 and finishing with the 100 freestyle at 54.76.

The women received six more individual victories, including the 1000 freestyle by junior Courtney Carani (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest), the 50 freestyle of senior Ward McNulty (Glencoe, Ill./New Trier), the 400 individual medley from senior Jane Tsivitse (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming), the 100 backstroke from junior Sarah Wilson (Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe), the 500 freestyle of freshman Maggie White (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) and the 100 breaststroke of junior Molly Gustafson (West Hartford, Conn./Conard).

The Tigers return to the tank tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 3, at DePauw University in a 3 p.m. meet.
