Three Tigers earn All-NCAC recognition in Men’s Lacrosse

SPRINGFIELD — Wittenberg sophomore Kyle Gould (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport), senior Kody Gould (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) and junior Justin Katona (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors in men's lacrosse for the 2024 season through balloting by the league's head coaches.

Kyle Gould was named to the All-NCAC Second Team, and Kody Gould and Katona were Third Team selections.

This marks the first career All-NCAC accolade for all three student-athletes.

In 11 games this season, Kyle Gould tallied 41 points on 35 goals and six assists for an average of 3.73 points per game from his attack position. He ranked second on the team in goals and third in points and is second in the NCAC with 3.18 goals per game. He was named NCAC Offensive Player of the Week on March 12.

In 26 career games at Wittenberg, he has 74 points on 65 goals and nine assists.

Kody Gould recorded 25 points on 22 goals and three assists in 12 games in the midfield this season. He ranked fourth on the team in goals and tied for fourth in points.

He has 94 points on 75 goals and 19 assists in 47 career games at Wittenberg.

In 12 games this season, Katona tallied 12 caused turnovers and 14 ground balls from his defensive position. He finished the year ranked second on the team in caused turnovers.

In 30 career games at Wittenberg, he has a total of 29 caused turnovers and 30 ground balls.

The Tigers opened the 2024 season with a 4-0 record and finished the year 8-5 overall, including 3-5 in NCAC play, under 11th-year head coach Jay Owen.
