Men's Lacrosse Picked To Finish Sixth In NCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll

CLEVELAND — The Wittenberg men's lacrosse team was picked to finish sixth in the North Coast Athletic Conference in the 2024 Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released on Monday.

The Tigers received 39 points, placing ahead of DePauw (25), Wabash (21) and Hiram (9).

Denison was picked as the favorite with seven first-place votes and 79 points, and Kenyon was second with one first-place vote and 72 points. Ohio Wesleyan received the remaining first-place vote and was picked third with 65 points.

Wittenberg finished 7-8 overall and tied for fourth in the NCAC with a 4-4 mark in 2023.

The Tigers are returning all six of their double-digit goal-scorers from last season in seniors Kody Gould (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) and Holton Boehmer (Brighton, Mich./Brighton), juniors Nathan Brown (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) and Nicholas Langenderfer (Montgomery, Ohio/St. Xavier) and sophomores Kyle Gould (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) and Dillon McKeigue (Olmsted Township, Ohio/St. Edwards).

Kyle Gould led Wittenberg with 30 goals in 2023, and McKeigue recorded a team-best 18 assists and 45 points.

The Tigers open their 2024 season on March 2 at St. Vincent.

Their homer opener is scheduled for March 30 against NCAC foe Wooster.

The NCAC Tournament will be held during the first week of May with the semifinals taking place on Wednesday, May 1, and the tournament championship on Saturday, May 4.
