Wittenberg Celebrates Mitchell Steinker in Senior Day

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg hosted Oberlin in their final regular season game of the year. Prior to the match-up the Tigers celebrated Mitchell Steinker as their lone senior for senior day. The Cincinnati native will graduate with a degree in exercise science.

Highlights- Wittenberg goals were scored by six different Tigers. The scoring leader on the day belonged to Nathan Brown with three goals. Also getting through the Yeomen defense were Kody Gould and Dillon McKeigue with two goals each and a trio of Holton Boehmer, Ty Harris, and Mitchell Steinker with a goal. Despite great efforts the Tigers fell with a 18-10 score.

Splitting time in goal for the Tigers were Chase Singleton and Will Westermeyer. Westermeyer would come into play in the second quarter leading Wittenberg with _ saves on the day. Defensively, The Tigers picked up 38 ground balls on the day being led by Colten Simkins with 16.

Statistically, the Tigers controlled the face-off, winning 19, and out hustled the Yeomen for groundballs.

The Red and White end their regular season with an overall record of 7-8, going 4-4 in conference play, fighting for the fourth spot in the NCAC Tournament.
