Brown Secures Win for Tigers

Crawfordsville, IN- Wittenberg traveled to Crawfordsville to take on the Little Giants of Wabash. In their fifth conference match-up the Red & White captured a close 11-10 victory.

Highlights- Wittenberg had seven different Tigers score, putting six up in the first quarter, one in the second, another one in the third, and three more in the final quarter of play.

Wittenberg was led by freshman, Kyle Gould with three goals and one assist. The Tigers managed to assist six of their 11 goals with Ty Harris leading the way with two. Wittenberg left the Little Giants scoreless in the first while Gould (2), Matt Slean, Mitchell Steinker (2), and Zach Busby put up six goals. Gould came back in the second with his hattrick and the Tigers headed into the half with a comfortable 7-3 lead. Nicholas Langenderfer put up the Tigers eighth goal in the third before Wabash was able to come within one. Dillon McKeigue scored to start the fourth but the Little Giants were able to take their first lead of the game. Langenderfer scored again to take a 10-10 draw and Nathan Brown was able to secure the win in the final two minutes of play.

Splitting time in goal for the Tigers were Chase Singleton and Will Westermeyer. Singleton saw a total of 17 shots on the day with 10 saves while Westermeyer saw four shots and one saves. . Defensively, Wittenberg picked up 47 ground balls, being led by Colten Simkins with 14 on the day. The Tigers caused 14 Little Giant turnovers as a team, being led by Justin Katona with three. 

Up Next: Wittenberg will be on the road for their next conference match. The men will take on Wooster at 3:00 PM on April 22nd. Wooster will host Wittenberg at Wooster High School.
