Conference Match-Up Slips Away from Tigers

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned to Edwards-Maurer Field for their fourth conference match of the season against the Owls of Kenyon. The Tigers battled out four quarters, sticking right with the Owls into the third quarter before falling with a final score of 19-8.

Highlights- Wittenberg had five different Tigers score, putting three up in the first quarter, two in the second, and three in the third.

The Red & White were led by Nicholas Langenderfer with three goals on the day. Also getting through the Owl defense were Holton Boehmer, Kyle Gould, Nathan Brown, Colten Simkins, and Blake Roller. Adding assists for the Tigers were Matt Selan to Brown and Ethan Pac to Roller in the first quarter.

Splitting time in goal for the Tigers were Chase Singleton and Will Westermeyer. Singleton saw a total of 34 shots on the day with seven key saves while Westermeyer saw 37 shots with ten saves. The Tigers went nearly perfect in clear attempts, going 22-24. Defensively, Wittenberg picked up 22 ground balls, being led by Colten Simkins with 5 on the day. The Tigers caused seven Owl turnovers as a team, being led by Henry Coyle with two.
