Tigers Drop Road Match-Up

University Heights, OH- The men travelled north to University Heights, OH to take on the Blue Streaks of John Carroll. After a heartbreaking overtime loss to Otterbein, the Tigers were ready to get after it and strived to improve their record to 2-1. After four tough quarter the men weren't able to put up enough point on the board and fell to the Blue Streaks with a 18-8 score.

Game Breakdown: Cooper Harris was able to get the first point on the board in a man-up opportunity with an assist from Noah Moderwell to tie the game 1-1 at 12:53. Wittenberg had a seven minute hiatus until Matthew Welch was able to get through JCU defense on a man-up opportunity and assist from Lucas Klever. Tigers would put one more on the board in the first quarter with a goal from Andrew Ellis from Moderwell to keep the game within two. Wittenberg had a tough second quarter and was unable to add to their score and went into the half down 11-3. The same would be true for the third period and the Blue Streaks were able to increase their lead 18-3. Tigers came back in the fourth quarter and were able to shut down John Carroll. The Blue Streaks weren't able to get on the board in the fourth quarter while Tigers put up five on the board with three goals from Andrew Ellis off of assists from Welch, Moderwell, and Noah Mackin. Welch and Mackin each tabbed a point with Mackin scoring unassisted and Welch getting help with an assist from Ben Rodell.

Key Players: Andrew Ellis led the offense with four goals while Tony Lebarge picked up five ground balls and caused four turnovers.

Up Next: The men will return home to take on Transylvania University in another non-conference match-up on Saturday, February 29th at 12 PM.
