SPRINGFIELD — Wittenberg senior J.F. Aber (Pittsburgh, Pa./Sewickley Academy) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for the week of April 22-28.

This marks Aber's fourth NCAC Athlete of the Week accolade of the 2023-24 season and seventh of his career. He earned the honor once as a sophomore and twice as a junior as well as on Sept. 6, March 12 and April 16 this season.

The latest recognition comes after he earned tournament medalist honors in the 67-man field at the Denison Spring Shootout on Sunday to lead Wittenberg to the team title by 11 strokes over the Tigers' B team and 13 strokes over third-place Kenyon in the 11-team field. Aber recorded six birdies to just one bogey in the one-round tournament and won the individual championship by two strokes with a 5-under-par 66 and was one of only three golfers to finish with a score under par.

Through 23 rounds on the season, Aber boasts a team-best 71.96-stroke average.

The 2022-23 NCAC Player of the Year, Aber earned All-NCAC First Team accolades a season ago following his third-place finish at the NCAC Championships. He capped his junior season by earning GCAA NCAA Division III PING All-America Second Team recognition.

The Tigers return to action Friday through Sunday at the three-round NCAC Championships at Westfield Country Club in Westfield, Ohio. Ranked No. 15 nationally in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek NCAA Division III Coaches Poll, Wittenberg has been selected as the favorite to emerge as the NCAC champion in the Pre-Championship Coaches Poll.
