SPRINGFIELD — Wittenberg senior J.F. Aber (Pittsburgh, Pa./Sewickley Academy) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for the week of March 4-10.

This marks Aber's second NCAC Golfer of the Week accolade of the 2023-24 season and fifth of his career. He earned the honor once as a sophomore in 2021-22 and twice as a junior in 2022-23.

The latest recognition comes after he posted Wittenberg's top finish in a loaded field at the three-round Savannah Invitational at The Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Ga., on March 4-5. He placed fifth overall in the 95-man field, shooting a 9-under-par 72-66-69—207 on the par-72 course. He finished just two shots back of the tournament medalist and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Aber led Wittenberg to a 10th-place finish in the 19-team field, which featured 15 of the top 25 teams in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek NCAA Division III Coaches Poll.

Aber, a two-time GCAA PING Division III Second Team All-America selection and the 2022-23 NCAC Golfer of the Year, boasts an 18-hole average of 72.3 over 18 rounds this season.

Currently ranked No. 15 in the Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll, the Tigers return to action April 7-8 at the Hershey Cup at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pa.
