No. 4 Men's Golf Takes 5th at Savannah Invitational

Savannah, GA – The No. 4 Wittenberg Tiger Men's Golf team secured a fifth-place finish amongst the stacked field of 18 nationally ranked opponents from the Savannah Invitational at The Club at Savannah Harbor. Wittenberg landed three Tigers in the top 25 amongst the field of 90 competitors.

JF Aber posted a 72-hole score of 218 with rounds of 69-71-78. Aber tallied his first collegiate ace in competition in the second round, on the 15th hole, a 170-yard par three. Aber posted back-to-back under-par rounds, coming in at one-under in the second round. Aber tallied three birdies and two eagles through his second 18-holes of competition. He nearly had a bogey free day through the his first 18-holes, posting four more birdies to come in at three-under par

Matthew Mattioli and Josh Wright added a T-23 finish for the Tiger lineup, posting three-round scores of 225. Mattioli logged rounds of 70-73-82. Wright tallied rounds of 74-72-79.

Mattioli posted four birdies in the first round to open the tournament with a score at -2. Wright found his groove on the second day with lots of red numbers, securing six birdies and finishing the day at even par.

Evan DiSanto cracked the top 50 with a T-44 finish, bringing in rounds of 76-75-80 for a 72-hole score of 231. Closing out the weekend at 15 shots over par. DiSanto had his best round of the weekend, playing the second 18-holes on day one, coming in at +3 with four birdies on his card.
