JF Aber Leads Tigers To T1 Finish At NCAC/OAC Clash

Howard, OH – The No. 4 Wittenberg Tiger men's golf battled NCAA Division III competition from around the Buckeye State at the NCAC/OAC Clash In Columbus from the Apple Valley Golf Club. Wittenberg came away with a T1 finish as a team, carding back-to-back rounds of 287 for a 36-hole team-score of 574 (-2).

The Tigers were led by JF Aber, posting rounds of 68 and 70 for a 36-hole total of 138. Aber paced the field of over 70 competitors, earning medalist honors with a score of six under par. Matthew Mattioli scored an even par through the two days of competition. Coming in at T6, Mattioli posted a first-round score of 73, following up with a 71 to close out the tournament at 144. Nicklaus Pidgeon cracked the top 15 with an 11th place finish, posting a two-day score of 146 (+2). Pidgeon tallied back-to-back rounds of 73 over the 6,800-yard course. Rounding out the top 25 finishers for Wittenberg, Will Birkholz earned a T22 finish, posting a two-day score of 149 (+5).
