Mattioli & Tigers Take Top Spot At Hershey Cup

Hershey, PA – The No. 5 Wittenberg Tiger Men's Golf team traveled to the Hershey Cup played at the iconic Hershey Country Club. Freshman Matthew Mattioli took the top spot amongst the field, shooting a 36-hole score of 140 (+1). As a team, the Tigers lead the highly competitive field of nationally and regionally ranked opponents, as the Tiger's carded rounds of 294 and 288 for a two-day score of 582 (+22) as a team. Wittenberg bested a field which consisted of NCAC opponents including Allegheny College and No. 18 Denison University.

Amongst the Tiger top 10 finishers, were Nick Pidgeon and Josh Wright carding rounds of 75 and 72 for a 147 (+7). Pennsylvania native, JF Aber earned a T-12 finish with a 36-hole score of 148 (+8), carding rounds of 75 and 73.

Other notable top 25 teams the Tigers topped amongst the field included, host No. 24 University of Rochester, No. 6 Carnegie Mellon and No. 18 York College (PA). Along with New York University (RV).
