Tigers Take Fourth At NCAA DIII Preview

Howie-in-the-Hills, FL – The Wittenberg men's golf team secured a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Fall Preview this past weekend at the Mission Inn Resort & Club, the same course the Tigers captured the 2017 National Championship. El Campeon Golf Course and Las Colinas Golf Course set the backdrop for the Tigers week in the Sunshine state. El Campeon played just over 6700-yards, while Las Colinas played at just over 6800-yards.

Evan DiSanto led the way for the Tigers through the 56-hole tournament, earning a T4 finish with a score of 211 (-5). DiSanto carded rounds of 73, 67 and 71. Coming off his first collegiate win, Matthew Mattioli, earned a T15 finish, taking a 56-hole score of 217 into the clubhouse with rounds of 72, 75 and 70. Will Birkholz cracked the top 25 with a T21 finish, posting rounds of 77, 72 and 70 for a three-round score of 219. JF Aber posted back-to-back rounds of 71-71 with a third-round score of 78, earning a T26 finish for a 56-hole total of 220. Making the cut inside the top 75, Joshua Wright, rounded out the trip with a tally of 229, posting rounds of 79, 74 and 76.
