Mattioli & Tiger Men's Golf Secure Top Spot At Belterra Intercollegiate

Florence, IN – The Wittenberg men's golf team returned from the Battle at Belterra in Florence, IN. The Tigers brought home both the team and individual titles, with a two-day score of 576 (286-290). Freshman Matthew Mattioli captured individual medalist honors, finishing in a seven-hole playoff, carding a final score of 144. Mattioli posted a 78 on day one and 66 on day two of competition.

Wittenberg had four Tigers finish in the top 10 over the weekend. Joshua Wright earned a third-place finish, carding a total of 145 with rounds of 68 and 77. On the heels of Wright, Evan DiSanto took fourth-place with rounds of 74 and 72 for a 146. JF Aber posted rounds of 73 and 75, earning a seventh-place finish for a total of 148.

The Tigers will return to action from Howie-in-the-Hills, FL at the NCAA Preview, taking on some of the top competition in NCAA Division III at the El Campeon Golf Cours & Las Colinas Golf Course. Wittenberg's first day of competition will be Sunday, September 19 and closing out the three-day event on Tuesday, September 21.
