Tigers Topple Yeomen For First Win of 2023

Oberlin, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Men's Basketball team picked up their first win of the 2023 calendar year, taking down the Oberlin College Yeomen, 85-47. The Tigers knocked down 28 of 58 from the floor, including a season-high 18 of 28 three-point attempts. Wittenberg found three Tigers scoring double-figures by the end of the game. Leading the way, Levi Boettcher tallied 18 points, knocking down 5 of 6 from beyond the arc. Boettcher added two rebounds with one assist to his total on the night.

Wittenberg maintained a 37-28 advantage at the half. The Tigers found their groove early, shooting 48 percent from the floor with eight made three pointers through the opening half. Trey Killens and Josh Tolliver each added 11 points to the Tiger's tally. With six different Tigers dropping multiple made three's in the bucket, Brice Hill and Jerry Saunders Jr. closed out the game with nine points apiece. Hill added five rebounds and one assist to his total. Saunders Jr. dished out four assists with five rebounds.

Wittenberg will return to action on Wednesday, January 11, making their 2023 home debut, hosting the Owls from Kenyon College. Tipoff from Pam Evans Smith Arena is set for 7:30 pm.
