Tigers Drop NCAC Opener At Hiram

Hiram, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Men's Basketball team fell in their North Coast Athletic Conference opener, on the road at Hiram College, 80-70. Wittenberg was led by Josh Tolliver, posting 22 points coming off the bench for the Tigers. Tolliver knocked down 8 of 13 from the floor including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. Levi Boettcher tallied 21 points, getting it done at both ends of the floor. Boettcher went 4 of 9 from the floor, hitting 3 of 6 from deep and 10 of 11 from the free-throw line. The fifth-year senior pulled in a team-high seven rebounds with two steals and a blocked shot, dishing out one assist.

Wittenberg held a 35-29 advantage at the half, shooting nearly 35 percent from the floor. Hiram would start to heat up during the second half, shooting 59 percent from the field. The Tigers played a clean game, limiting themselves to just eight turnovers on the evening while forcing 15 Terrier mistakes.

Wittenberg will continue NCAC action on Wednesday, December 7, returning home to host the Tigers from DePauw University. Tipoff is set for 7:00 pm from Pam Evans Smith Arena.
