Men's Hoops Fall On The Road At DePauw

Greencastle, Ind. – Wittenberg University men's basketball team fell on the road to the No. 15 ranked Tigers of DePauw University, 76-45 on Thursday evening. The battle of the Tigers featured 42 points in the paint, and a combined 17 assists in the bruising battle. The Red and White were led by senior James Johnson as he headlined the scoring column with 12 points while also recording two rebounds and adding one assist. 

Game Breakdown

Wittenberg scored the first basket of the game, but DePauw found a hot streak that Wittenberg had a tough time answering. Wittenberg went on to shoot 33 percent from three-point range, which was highlighted by Johnson who knocked down four of the team's six from beyond the arc. Wittenberg freshmen Daniel Asher and Justin Shipman-Curtis got their first career starts on Thursday evening. Asher was able to knock down 4 of 8 shots from the field, tallying 8 points and grabbing five rebounds. Shipman-Curtis found the back of the net two times for the Tigers as he went 2 of 6 from the field for 4 points. Shipman-Curtis also grabbed 6 rebounds and recorded 1 assist for the Red and White.
