Tigers Fall To Battling Bishops

Delaware, OH – The Wittenberg men's basketball team fell on the road to the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan University, 58-48. The Tigers trailed by a slim three-point margin 23-20 at the half, as Jeff Queen led the Wittenberg offense with six points off the bench. Wittenberg finished with two Tigers tallying double figures on the day as Levi Boettcher posted 11 points and for the second straight game Daniel Asher led in the scoring effort adding 12 points.

Game Breakdown

Wittenberg knocked down nearly 30 percent of their shots from the field through the first half, led by Queen with six points. The Tigers held the Battling Bishops to shooting just 2 of 13 from beyond the arc through the first 20 minutes of action, allowing the Ohio Wesleyan bench to score zero points. The Tigers picked up the offense in the second half, as Asher went 3 of 6 from the floor and 2 of 2 from the foul line for eight points through the final 20 minutes. Boettcher knocked down 2 of 4 from beyond the arc, along with 3 of 4 from the charity stripe for nine second-half points.
