10/14/17 Blog #1 #TigersUpNorth

10/14/2017

We made it!  We crossed over into the land of our neighbors up north at 5:38AM.  On the way, most of the team took some tiger snoozes, but not all of us.  Some of us engaged in competitive rounds of euchre while traveling through the night.  There wasn't much to look at except for dark skies, pavement, and tigers sleeping just about anywhere in any position (on the floor, in seats, with legs hanging to the ground, with legs propped up, or with legs on top of other legs).

Upon arrival, we moved our bags into the hotel and let Rose, our tour guide, show around Old Montreal.  The team posed for a great picture in front of a sign celebrating Canada's 150th year of existence!  We saw the first port in Montreal, the oldest street, and got to do a little dining at local restaurant, The Cage.  We all go to try some samples of all different kinds of maple syrup.  Some of us, myself included, went zip lining and I'm not gonna lie, I screamed my head off… We split up and toured Old Montreal in small groups, buying t-shirts, looking at old monuments, and asking locals to take our pictures like the diehard tourists that we are!  Some of us even decided to pay a visit to Basilique Notre-Dame de Montreal, which is an enormous, beautiful church.

Tonight, we get some more free time to visit other parts of the city.  We tried to get coach to buy us tickets to the hockey game, the Montreal Canadiens vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs, but $180 per ticket was a bit pricey.  But, we're still excited to see what downtown is like during this huge rivalry game.

Tomorrow starts completion, and we couldn't be more excited! #TigersUpNorth
