Tigers Secure 7th Shutout Win of the Season

Oberlin, OH-The Wittenberg Field Hockey team traveled to Oberlin to take on Oberlin College in a low scoring defensive battle. At the end of the game, the Tigers were able to head back to Springfield with a 2-0 victory. 

In the first quarter, both teams were held scoreless and headed into the second quarter tied at zero. Just under 5 minutes into the quarter, Katie Webber found the back of the net after an assist from Lucy Ripepi to send the Tigers into the half up by one. 10 minutes into the third, Ripepi scored a goal of her own to bring the Tiger's lead to 2. In the fourth, both teams were held scoreless once again for Wittenberg to secure the win. 

Leaders-Lucy Ripepi led the team in shots, with 9, and 5 of which came on goal. Ripepi also logged the only assist of the game as well. Again, the Tigers saw all 3 of their goalies get playing time and Caitlin Archdeacon logged the win, playing the entire first half and saving the only 2 Oberlin shots on goal. 

Notables-The Tigers led in shots, 23-2 and had a big lead in penalty corners as well, 16-1.
