Wittenberg Comes Up Just Short Against Depauw

Springfield, OH-The field hockey team took on Depauw in a matchup of Tigers. After a good first half, Wittenberg was up 1-0, but they were not able to hold on, losing 3-2. 

Just before the first quarter's end, Lauren Neutzling found Lucy Ripepi on a pass, and Ripepi put the ball in the back of the net to give the Tigers the 1-0 lead. Both teams remained scoreless to end the first half. Depauw came out in the third quarter and scored 3 unanswered goals. With 5 minutes left in the game, Meike Kwaaitaal found the back of the net on an assist from Emmy Kuijten to end the game in a 3-2 loss. 

Leaders-Kwaaitaal led the team with 5 shots and herself, Ripepi and Kuijten each finished with 2 shots on goal. In goal, Caitlin Archdeacon saved 3 of the 6 shots on goal against her. 

Notables-Wittenberg led in shots 14-11 and had more penalty corners as well, 10-4.
