Tigers Clinch Second Home Win in Defensive Battle

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg won their second home game in a row in hard fought defensive matchup against the Sweet Briar Vixens.

After Sweet Briar scored first off of a penalty corner, Meike Kwaaitaal answered with an unassisted goal of her own only three minutes later. Then, in the second quarter, Emmy Kuijten scored on a penatly shot of her own as the last score of the game. From then on out, each team played stellar defense.

Notables: Wittenberg outshot Sweet Briar 21-4 and had the edge in penalty corners as well, 11-2. Caitlin Archdeacon got the win in goal, playing the last 3 quarters after seeing Izzy Thompson in goal for the first.

Leaders: Ripepi and Kwaaitaal each led the team with 5 shots, 4 of those for each were on goal. In goal, Thompson saved one of the two shots against her in the game, those two shots being the only ones of the game.
