Tigers Drop Road Match Against DePauw

Greencastle, IN- Wittenberg hit the road for their fifth conference match-up of the season in Greencastle, Indiana against the Tigers of DePauw. Wittenberg was able to stay close with DePauw statistically with both teams drawing four penalty corners, taking six shots compared to DePauw's eight, and saving five shots compared to DePauw's four. The Red & White had a program record of 23-19-3 prior to tonight's match-up but were unable to improve that after a 2-0 loss on the road.

The Tigers were able to get through DePauw defense with four attempts on goal from Allison Orsmby, Regan Mazzulli, and Meredith Johnson. In goal for Wittenberg was junior goal keeper, Emma Hurguy who faced seven shots on goal, tallying five saves to add to her season total of 81.

Wittenberg currently stands at number six in the conference with 2 wins and 3 losses in conference play and an 8-7 overall record.

NCAC Stats Leaders- Allison Ormsby is currently tied number three in the NCAC for goals on the season with nine and is third in the NCAC for points with 20 this season. Right behind Ormsby in tied in fifth is Regan Mazzulli with seven goals. Mazzulli is also in the top ten for points this season, at number five with 16. Katie Webber sits just outside the top ten in goals with four on the season and for points with 11. Caroline Ford is tied at number three in the conference for assists with four on the season. Behind Ford in assists is Webber tied at number seven with three.

On the defensive side, Shannon Csordos is tied at number seven in the NCAC for defensive saves while Emma Hurguy currently ranks number two in NCAC goalie leaders for saves with 81 and number five for saves per game averaging 5.79 and a .802 save percentage per game (number five for save percentage).

NCAA Stats Leaders- Emma Hurguy currently stands at number fourteen in Division III for save percentage with the NCAC being represented in the top fifteen by three universities.

The Tigers will be back on in action this Saturday against Allegheny for their Senior Day where the team will celebrate their four seniors, Ryleigh Bavineau, Sofi Hess, Lilye Morrison, and Allison Ormsby.
