Tigers Shutout Angels in Road Match

Raleigh, NC- Wittenberg continued their 2021 campaign on the road against the Meredith Angels in Raleigh, North Carolina. In their first match-up of the weekend they were able to dominate in a 6-0 shutout against the Angels. Wittenberg was led by Caroline Ford who tallied her first goals of the season. The Tigers were also able to pick up another collegiate first with Allyson Miller scoring her first goal. The Tigers were able to put a point on the board in each quarter, getting their first goal at 14:32 from Victoria Pipinich unassisted.

The second quarter brought freshman, Allyson Miller, her first collegiate goal off of a collegiate first assist from Katie Webber. The Red & White went into the half with a 2-0 lead over the Angels. Starting the third quarter was Webber with Wittenberg's third goal off of an assist from Lilye Morrison.

The fourth quarter would be the Tiger's most eventful quarter with three back-to-back goals. Caroline Ford picked up two goals in the fourth, both unassisted, while Regan Mazzulli put up a point with an assist from Ford. Wittenberg carried the game offensively drawing 22 penalty corners and leaving Meredith with zero shots.

Head Coach, Bronwen Gainsford said "today was a great team win! It was awesome to see a strong offensive effort and multiple players contributing to the win." The 3-1 Tigers will be back in action tomorrow as they take on Ferrum at 1PM.
