Wittenberg Football Falls to DePauw in OT

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger football team fell to the Tigers from DePauw in a heartbreaking overtime battle, 41-35. Wittenberg held a 24-14 lead at the half and would score the only points of the third quarter. DePauw would score two unanswered touchdowns to end the fourth quarter, knotting the game up at 35-35 and forcing the overtime battle.

Wittenberg won the battle through the air as Max Milton threw for 345 yards and two touchdowns, finding Tyler May for both receiving touchdowns. May finished the day with a career-high 229 yards through the air on eight catches, including a long of 81 yards.

The Wittenberg defense would get in on the scoring action with a Jordan Stipe 65-yard pick-six, just before the half, giving the home Tigers a 24-14 advantage. Wittenberg added a second interception, this time from Darien Williams, putting a stop to a DePauw offensive drive. Williams would also add a pass break-up to his tally.
