Springfield, OH-- The Wittenberg Tigers fell in the North Coast Athletic Conference match up with the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops, 14-7. The Tigers racked up 270 yards of total offense, rushing for 186 and passing for 84. Wittenberg found a spark, just before the half with a CJ Burnette kickoff return was all the way to Battling Bishop territory, but a holding call on the Tigers negated the run.

The Tigers came into second half down 14-0, but a 27-yard pass from Collin Brown to Drew Sterett put Wittenberg within striking distance. Wittenberg set up the goal-line package leaving Garrett Gross to punch in for the 4-yard touchdown with just over five-minutes remaining in the fourth-quarter.

Gross picked up 46-yards on the day on 13 carries. Bryce Anderson touted 15 carries for 68 yards on the afternoon. The Wittenberg passing game was limited, due to gusty winds whipping across Edwards-Maurer Field. Gross reeled in two catches with five different Tiger receivers pulling down a reception for the Wittenberg offense.

Mike Knock and Cameron Snurr posted 12 and 10 tackles each for the Wittenberg defense. Grant Hollinger broke into the Ohio Wesleyan backfield for the lone Wittenberg sack of the afternoon.

The Tigers return to Edwards-Maurer Field on November 12th at 1PM for senior day against the Hilbert College Hawks.
