Tigers Take Road Win From Wabash

Crawfordsville, IN – The Wittenberg Tiger football team picked up the 35-14 road win over the Wabash College Little Giants on Saturday afternoon. The Tiger defense would hold the Wabash offense scoreless in the second-half of action, as Wittenberg defense continued to provide takeaways and setbacks with four interceptions and three sacks. The Tigers were efficient on third down, coming up on 9 of 16 third down conversions.

 Bryce Anderson led the ground attack with his third 100+ yard rushing game of the season, racking up 135 yards on 31 attempts with two touchdowns. Julio Novarini caused havoc for the Little Giant offense, coming away with two interceptions and three broken-up passes. Mike Knock provided a defensive touchdown for the Tigers, taking his first interception of the season back 31-yards, giving Wittenberg the 21-14 lead.

Drew Sterett led the Tiger receiving stable, reeling in six catches with 58 yards and one touchdown. Anderson found himself on the receiving end of a Collin Brown completion for his third touchdown of the afternoon, capping off the six-yard score, and putting the Tigers ahead 28-14. Brown finished the day completing 12 of 22 passes for 123 yards, connecting with Jake Saus for 22-yards for his longest completion of the day. Wittenberg accumulated 345 total yards of total offense, averaging five yards per play.

The Tigers move to 6-3 overall and 6-2 in North Coast Athletic Conference action. Wittenberg will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 13 celebrating their senior class as they host the College of Wooster from Edwards Maurer Field at 1:00 PM.
