Tigers Take Down Kenyon Under The Lights

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger football team celebrated their annual Champions Night with a 38-14 win over the Kenyon College Lords under the lights at Edwards-Maurer Field. After a scoreless first quarter, the Tiger offense found their groove with 10 unanswered points, heading into the break as Wittenberg held a 17-7 advantage at the break. The Tigers outscored Kenyon 21-7 in the second half, racking up 518 total-yards of offense, including 310 through the air. Wittenberg quarterback Collin Brown completed 18 of 28 passes for four touchdowns, utilizing four different weapons on the outside with Gene Nobles, Sam Kayser, Jake Saus and Troy Teepe each reeling in a scoring reception.

The Tiger defense held strong up front, giving Wittenberg the extra push when it was needed. Michael Fiessinger came up with the tipped pass interception late in the first half, leading to the second Tiger touchdown of the game. Cameron Snurr led the defense with seven total tackles. Mike Knock continues to be the difference maker breaking into the opposing backfield, logging 2.5 tackles for loss.

Wittenberg will return to action next Saturday, October 30th traveling to Allegheny College. Kickoff in Meadville, PA is set for 1:00 PM.
