Tiger Football Players Earn Regional, National Honors

Tristan Murray breaks through a hole opened by Tim Funke and Ted Londot, among others, against the University of Dayton. Springfield, Ohio — After a solid football season that included the university's eighth North Coast Athletic Conference title in 17 years in the league and the program's 12th berth in the 34-year history of the NCAA Division III Tournament, Wittenberg placed four different players on postseason all-region and all-america award lists.

After breaking numerous school records and becoming just the second player in school history to rush for more than 4,000 yards in his career, senior tailback Tristan Murray (New Carlisle, Ohio/Tecumseh) was appropriately honored by d3football.com and Don Hansen's Football Gazette. Murray earned first-team All-North Region honors from each organization, followed up by third-team All-America from d3football.com and first-team All-America from Don Hansen's Football Gazette.

Senior center Tim Funke (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) also garnered All-America mention. After picking up third-team All-North Region from d3football.com and second-team All-North Region from Don Hansen's Football Gazette, Funke reeled in honorable mention All-America recognition from Don Hansen's Football Gazette.

In addition, senior offensive tackle Ted Londot (Utica, Ohio/Utica) was selected to the third-team All-North Region lists released by both organizations and senior linebacker Tyler Harmon (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) rounded out his career with third-team honors from Don Hansen's Football Gazette.
