Fincham Named NCAC Coach of the Year; Two Tigers Earn Special NCAC Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio-- Wittenberg University junior running back Casey Donaldson (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern) earned the NCAC Offensive Player of the Year award for the second consecutive season. Donaldson rushed for 1,308 yards this season, despite being injured for a game and a half. He set a school record in career scoring with 248 points and was only the second athlete in Tiger history to rush for over 1,000 yards in two consecutive seasons.

Freshman defensive back Elio Harmon (Columbus, Ohio/Walnut Ridge) was selected the NCAC Newcomer of the Year. Harmon led the team in interceptions with three and recorded 29 tackles for the Tigers. Harmon moved into the starting position at cornerback in the third game of the season.

Head coach Joe Fincham was named the NCAC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. With a 40-3 overall career mark in his four years with the Tigers, Fincham has guided his teams to two conference titles, two playoff berths and two undefeated regular seasons. Wittenberg takes its 11-0 record into the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs when it hosts Ohio Northern on Saturday, Nov. 27.
