Game 2 - Wittenberg 15, DePauw 0 (7 inn.)

  • After a scoreless first two innings, Wittenberg scored three runs in the bottom of the third on an RBI fielder's choice from Nemunaitis that plated an additional run courtesy of a DePauw error and an RBI single from Moore. Gryskevich led off that half-inning by reaching base on a hit-by-pitch, and back-to-back bunt singles from MacAuley and Thomas loaded the bases.
  • Wittenberg plated seven more runs in the bottom of the fourth for a 10-0 lead. Those runs came via a 2-RBI double from MacAuley, RBI double from Thomas, 2-RBI double from Moore and two-run homer from Rodriguez.
  • Looking for a spark, DePauw tallied a one-out single in the top of the fifth and appeared to be on its way to scoring when Max Bond hit a deep fly ball to right field. But O'Malley had other ideas, as he made an over-the-fence catch to rob Bond of a home run and keep DePauw scoreless.
  • Wittenberg made it a 14-0 game in the bottom of the fifth after loading the bases with one out via a pair of hit-by-pitches that sandwiched a DePauw error. Nemunaitis followed with a double to left field that plated all three runners. He advanced to third on the throw home, and that throw was errant, allowing him to score as well. After an O'Malley double, Rodriguez hit a two-out RBI single to cap the scoring with Wittenberg up 15-0.
  • The game ended in seven innings via the mercy rule.
  • Wittenberg out-hit DePauw by a 13-4 margin and committed one error to DePauw's three.
