Carl Berg is the most prolific swimmer ever produced at Wittenberg. He was a two-time All-America and three-time All-OAC champion in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle. He held school freestyle records from 50 through 1,000 yards. Berg, a 1967 graduate, was Wittenberg's swimming coach from 1967 to 1973. Berg was named superintendent of the Walnut Township Local School District in Millersport, Ohio, after 15 years as an administrator in Springfield City Schools. He is now an Educational Improvement Consultant in here in Springfield, Ohio.
