Tiger Cross Country Teams Earn All-Academic Accolades From USTFCCCA

SPRINGFIELD, OH — The Wittenberg women's cross country team earned All-Academic accolades from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2024 season, and a total of six student-athletes were also honored individually for their academic performance.

Under coaches Paris Hilliard and Chris Marco, the Tiger women earned All-Academic Team status with a cumulative GPA of 3.64. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.

Four members of the Wittenberg women's cross country team earned individual honors as USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes for 2024. Those athletes are Megan Keys (Dublin, OH / Jerome), Mackenzie Kelley (Altoona, PA / Altoona Area), Emma Hawk (Marion, OH / River Valley) and Maddi Clark (Mentor, OH / Mentor).

The Wittenberg men's cross country team also had two athletes earn indiviaual honors as well. The two athletes are Lukas Rieben (Clayton, OH / Northmont) and Lucas Eisele (West Carrollton, OH / West Carrollton).

In order to qualify for Academic All-American distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.

For the women at the regional championship meet, Keys finished 14th, Clark was 17th, Hawk finished in 27th and Kelley took 40th. For the men, Rieben took 53rd and Eisele finished 59th.
