Inter-Regional Rumble Brings Personal Bests

Oberlin, OH- Both men's and women's cross country headed north to Oberlin University for the annual Inter-Regional Rumble. The women's team placed 24th out of 32 teams in the women's varsity race and the men placed 8th out of 28 teams in the men's open race.

Alexis Gray led the women with a time of 23:11.5. Sophomore, Elizabeth Canright, was Wittenberg's number two runner finishing at 23:49.2. Lauren Welker (24:18.0), Erika Bournival (24:42.0), Caroline Arndt (25:36.2), Annalee Lynn (25:36.2), and Morgan Ely (27:01.7) each contributed to Wittenberg's 24th place and made personal improvements for this season.

On the men's side Cullen Sainey led the Tigers with a time of 27:09.7, he was followed closely by Ryan Zimmerman finishing at 27:31.0. Deven Ramsey was Wittenberg's number three runner with a 27:59.9 finish time. Sophomore, Andrew Reese was seconds behind at 28:06.1. Ian McCandlish (28:17.6), Jack Chambers (28:42.8), Mile Caines (29:12.0) were able to put the Tigers into an 8th place finish out of 28 teams.

Coaches Thoughts: Head Coach, Paris Hilliard said "Today was a significant day for our program. 9 of our 14 runners that competed today were able to obtain a personal best time. All the hard work is paying off at the right time."

Up Next: The Tigers will be back in Crawford, IN for the NCAC Championships on Saturday, November 2nd.
