Wittenberg Trips Up Otterbein, 3-0

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers capped another outstanding Saturday of volleyball with a 3-0 win over Otterbein. It was the second time in a month that the Tigers defeated Otterbein on their home floor with a three-game sweep.

The Tigers, who won by scores of 30-22, 30-27 and 30-15, improved to 15-3 overall, including a 3-0 record in the North Coast Athletic Conference after a win over Wooster earlier in the day. Wittenberg has won 13 of its last 14 matches, with the only loss coming a week ago in the finale of the Waynesburg Tournament by a 3-2 count against Muskingum.

Statistically, the Tigers' most impressive numbers were once again on the defensive side of things. Sophomore outside hitter Jan Kehres led with 18 digs and sophomore outside hitter Emily Bell added 16 digs, while senior middle hitter Emily Dixon chipped in with four blocks.

Offensively, Bell was tops with solid with nine kills, while freshman outside hitter Jackie Williams came off the bench to once again spark the Tigers, leading all players with 15 kills.
