Wittenberg Easily Defeats Kalamazoo

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers picked up right where they left off on Friday, moving to 3-0 in the Border Battle with a 3-0 victory over Kalamazoo.

Sophomore outside hitter Emily Bell was up to her usual tricks, posting a strong all-around game with 18 digs, 12 kills and four aces. Sophomore outside hitter Lindsey Penrod added three aces, sophomore setter Sarah Matesich chipped in with 29 assists, freshman libero Laura Fender capped her morning with 16 digs and freshman outstide hitter Searra Schell rounded things out with five kills off the bench.

The game scores were lopsided for the third-ranked Tigers, 30-17, 30-19, 30-17. Wittenberg swept both Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opponents on Friday by comfortable 3-0 margins as well.
