Wittenberg Wins 10th Straight Match 3-0 Over LaRoche

WAYNESBURG, Pa. - The Wittenberg Tigers won their 10th straight match, including three in a row in the Waynesburg Tournament, with a comfortable 3-0 victory over LaRoche.

The Tigers improved to 12-2 overall on the season heading into the tournament finale against Ohio Athletic Conference powerhouse Muskingum. Wittenberg has also won 24 straight games in the 10-match win streak, dating back to a 3-1 win over Mount St. Joseph at the Washington National Invitational

Statistically, Wittenberg featured its underclassmen in this one, especially several talented freshmen. Senior Linda Young was one of just a few regulars to even take the court, pounding five kills in seven attempts before taking the rest of the match off. Sophomore setter Sarah Matesich was another regular involved in the match, and she distributed 41 kills, with freshman outside hitters Jackie Williams (14 kills) and Searra Schell (13 kills) the main targets.
