SPRINGFIELD — Wittenberg junior Meghan Frazier (Alliance, Ohio/Alliance) and sophomore Tiffany Hix (Prospect, Ohio/Elgin) were named 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Track and Field All-Academic Athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced on Monday.

The Wittenberg women's track and field team was also recognized Monday, earning 2024 All-Academic Team honors from the USTFCCCA.

To earn the individual award, student-athletes must meet both academic- and athletic-based criteria. Academically, they must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale through the most recently completed grading period. Athletically, they must have (1) finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS and/or have qualified for the indoor or outdoor NCAA Championships meets, or (2) competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the indoor descending order list on TFRRS and/or participated in the relay at the indoor or outdoor NCAA Championships meets. Finally, any competing relay team member on an expanded descending order list to include 35 institutions (one relay team per institution) is eligible.

All-Academic Teams, meanwhile, must have a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter for all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility. Wittenberg ended the season with a teamwide cumulative GPA of 3.37.

Frazier, a biology major, is coming off a spectacular season that saw her earn the North Coast Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete Award and be named to the NCAC 40th Anniversary Women's Outdoor Track and Field All-Decade Team. She qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the 400 meters in both the indoor and outdoor seasons and was a USTFCCCA Second Team All-American in the indoor 400.

She was named NCAC Indoor Sprinter/Hurdler of the Year and was a four-time NCAC champion (indoor 60, 200 and 4x400 relay and outdoor 4x100 relay) while also earning All-NCAC recognition in outdoor 100 and 200. A three-time NCAC Athlete of the Week this season, Frazier broke the school record in the outdoor 400 with a time of 55.82 seconds.

She closed the indoor season ranked 16th nationally in the 400 meters, tied for 30th in the 60 and tied for 42nd in the 200. Outdoors, she ranked 20th nationally in the 400 and 48th in the 4x100 relay.
