Field Events Help Capture Fourth at Kenyon

Gambier, OH- Wittenberg track & field headed to Kenyon College for the Duane Gomez Invitational. The men were able to sweep javelin and took multiple top finishes for an overall fourth place finish and 118 points. On the women's side the Tigers took top finishes in field events for an overall place of fourth with 109 points.

Highlights- Wittenberg took two, three and four in the men's 100-meter dash with Grayson Ring leading the pack at 11.17. Matthew Drovdlic took third at 11.28 while Matt Rogers captured fourth at 11.50. Ring and Drovdlic came back to take first and second in the 200-meter dash with Ring crossing the line at 22.55. In the 110m hurdles Wittenberg captured another first-place finish from Riley Payne at 15.30. Parker Baker picked up more points for Wittenberg in the 400m hurdles with a second-place finish at 58.81.

On the women's side, Abigail Danne took third in the 800-meter run at 2:33.77. Reese Neumeyer was able to capture a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:11.58.

In field events, Jack Houck took a second-place finish in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.47m in the finals. Wittenberg swept the men's javelin where Justin Norris was able to take first, throwing for a distance of 41.84m. Dominic Cork too second in the javelin at 38.94m while Dustin Franks took third at 38.14m. Taking home another first-place finish for the Tigers was Julissa Williams in the women's high jump at 1.62m and Aidan Orth in the women's shot put at 11.80m. Sadie Knostman captured a third place finish in the women's discus, throwing for a distance of 37.64m. Orth came back with a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 39.93m and Knostman just behind in fourth at 38.51m. in the women's javelin throw Lainee Valentine took first at 25.92m while Macy DeHart threw for 22.24m and a second-place finish.
