Wittenberg Takes Second in Cedarville

Cedarville, OH- Wittenberg headed to Cedarville University for the Yellow Jackets Collegiate Open. The Tigers who are regionally ranked No. 3 on the women's side and No. 6 on the men's in USTFCCCA week two polls were able to take second and fourth place in Cedarville. The women's team picked up 84.50 points for a second-place finish while the men took 57 points and fourth.

Highlights- For the men, Riley Payne finished in the top five with a fourth-place finish in the 60m hurdles and time of 8.83. The Tigers were able to go two and three in the 200m dash with Cameron Elliott taking second with a time of 23.14 and Matt Rogers finishing third with a time of 23.19.

On the women's side Meghan Frazier finished in the top five for the 60m dash with a fourth-place finish and time of 7.97. Delaney Tackett placed second in the 400m dash with a time of 1:02.46, picking up eight points for the Tigers.

Wittenberg women's 4x200 relay team comprised of Zora Shakhan, Haleigh Willison, Meghan Frazier, and Tymeerah De'Armond, were able to take home a first-place title with a time of 1:46.78. The men's 4x200 relay team which included Grayson Ring, Cameron Elliott, Joshua Weisenberger, and Matt Rogers finished with a second-place title and time of 1:33.75. The Tigers were also able to take second in the women's 4x400 relay with Kyngston Collins, Abigail Danne, Victoria Pipinich, and Reese Neumeyer finishing at 4:27.95. The men's 4x400 finished in fourth with Mason Duncan, Chance Keller, Joel Martin, and Matthew Whittemore crossing the line at 3:40.19.

In field events, Julissa Williams took second in the women's high jump with a height of 1.57m. Going two and three for the men in the high jump were Grayson Ring and Justin Norris. Ring and Norris both jumped for a height of 1.87. Gage Dyke placed in the top five for men's pole vault with a height of 4.40m while Tiffany Hix tied for fifth in the women' pole vault with a height of 3.08m. The Tigers were able to go back-to-back in the women's triple jump with Reese Neumeyer taking first (9.63m) and Kara Owens (9.40) taking second.In throws events, Emily Doerman finished second in the women's shot put out of a field of 27 with a distance of 10.98m.

Up Next- Wittenberg will return to action on February 10th at the Valentine Invite hosted by Boston University. The Tigers will also host the All-Ohio Championships on February 11th in the Steemer.
